ss sylvan arrow laid down , launched in 1917 @ camden, new jersey, new york shipbuilding corporation commercial tanker standard oil company. completed in january 1918 , entered commercial service. u.s. navy inspected month in 3rd naval district possible world war navy service, and, when arrived @ new york city on 15 july 1918, navy took control of her. assigned naval registry identification number (id. no.) 2150 , commissioned on 19 july 1918 uss sylvan arrow.
