kitchener, ontario: eastwood collegiate institute (1956), public high school, replaced johnny rebel mascot , confederate imagery, perceived associated white bigotry, rebel lion in 1999. school retains rebel name teams.
montreal, quebec: plaque on hudson s bay company store commemorating jefferson davis brief stay in city installed udc in 1957; removed in 2017 following attack against counter protesters committed white supremacist in charlottesville.
