president jefferson davis , sons (2008), life-size bronze statue commissioned sons of confederate veterans (scv) commemorate 150th anniversary of birth of jefferson davis. statue features davis standing arms around both son joe, , jim limber, mixed-race stepchild of davis family svc called person lost in history revisionist historians, felt existence impair contrived notions of davis . scv first offered statue american civil war center @ tredegar iron works in richmond, virginia in order balance importance of statue located there depicting lincoln son while visited burned-out confederate capital in 1865. when center not guarantee or whether statue displayed or explain how might interpreted , scv rescinded offer. statue placed @ svc-managed jefferson davis presidential library , museum @ beauvoir in 2010.
