the werse home river of alberslohe canoe club (albersloher kanu club 1989), canoe section of tg münster, münster canoe club 1923 (paddelsport münster von 1923) , münster canoe club 1922 ( kanuverein münster 1922) there many boat houses belonging studentenverbindungen on river. in summer river heavily used commercial boat hire organisations..


in april 2007 werse cycleway (werseradweg) opened. starts in rheda-wiedenbrück , runs along werse , surrounding countryside 122 km. cycleway ends near confluence ems near münster-gelmer.
