Štybar born in planá u mariánských lázní. following consecutive second places in 2008 , 2009, Štybar won 2010 uci cyclo-cross world championships in home nation. in 2011, won world championships second time. in 2012 pulled off victory on road winning stage in 4 days of dunkirk. in 2013, Štybar came in sixth in paris–roubaix. in contention victory part of leading trio sep vanmarcke , fabian cancellara when hit spectator, causing him slow down clip in pedals. tried 2 leaders, no avail. in august of same year, Štybar took overall victory in eneco tour – part of uci world tour – winning 2 stages in process. later month, Štybar won stage 7 of 2013 vuelta españa beating world champion philippe gilbert.

in 2014, Štybar won world cyclo-cross championships third time in intense battle defending world champion sven nys.

in trying defend title in 2014 eneco tour, stybar crashed steel barriers in fourth stage near finish line , had undergo hospitalization. broke , lost front upper teeth in crash. upon return, complained uci same dangerous barriers used in grand prix cycliste de québec. first victory upon return binche–chimay–binche, attacked inside 2 kilometers go on small cobbled climb after being led out teammate niki terpstra @ foot of rise. Štybar had time celebrate, coming in 2 seconds before john degenkolb , charging sprinters.

in 2015, stybar won italian classic strade bianche. had belgian classics campaign. finished second in e3 harelbeke behind geraint thomas. @ tour of flanders, false set of front teeth broke in 2014 rattled loose riding cobbled climb , had take them off. still managed finish race in ninth position. grabbed second place in paris–roubaix, being outsprinted john degenkolb @ roubaix velodrome.

he named in start list 2015 tour de france. met success on stage 6, powered away on short steep incline situated few hundred meters before line. kept peter sagan reaching him, crossing line 2 seconds advantage on reduced group.
