biography
the angels

graham bidstrup (aka buzz throckman) joined angels after release of first single ever gonna see face again in 1976. staying until 1981, recorded 4 albums band, angels (1977), face face (1978), no exit (1979) , dark room (1980) before leaving pursue career in music production films including heatwave, starstruck , greetings wollongong many young bands of time including riptides, honeymoon , numbers. 3 of angels albums went platinum, 2 reaching top ten. in 1980, bidstrup co-wrote , co-produced angels top ten single, no secrets singer doc neeson.


gang gajang

bidstrup founding member of gang gajang. band emerged in 1984 chris bailey (band mate angels) on bass guitar, mark callaghan riptides, (a band bidstrup had produced) , kayellen bee. wrote songs , performed on platinum selling soundtrack abc tv series sweet , sour, bidstrup associate music director. addition of geoffrey stapleton on keyboards , robert james lead guitar in 1985 line complete , gang gajang have released 4 albums including platinum selling self titled album includes iconic song sounds of (this australia) . bidstrup music director quiksilver cult surf film, mad wax, featured gang gajang s music exclusively. gang gajang subsequently voted “no 1 band in world” world professional surfers’ association 1988/89. gang gajang still active in both live performance , recording , celebrated 30th anniversary in 2015.


the party boys

bidstrup founding member of party boys, all-star covers band in 1982 featuring kevin borich, paul christie, harvey james , james reyne. first live album, live @ several 21st s, achieved gold sales, , second album, greatest hits of other people, featured singer richard clapton , robin riley in place of harvey , reyne. last recording bidstrup made party boys in 1983 on no song sacred , featured shirley strachan on lead vocals.

bidstrup began professional career 15 year old in fahrenheit 451(band). played several other adelaide bands on next 8 years including red angel panic, gotham city, pegasus , taxi. recorded soundtrack film starstuck swingers, co-wrote , produced 2 albums country band stetsons, recorded live album drummer riptides , has played live many artists including catfish , suave fucks , richard clapton, dave steel band , jimmy barnes band, australian crawl , mondo rock.

bidstrup learned engineering , production skills under mentorship of harry vanda , george young @ alberts records, , young engineer mark opitz, co-produced 2 angels albums face face , no exit. date has produced or co-produced on 50 albums artists such riptides, party boys, gang gajang, stetsons, dave steel, james blundell, sunnyboys, nathan cavaleri, diana ah naid , jimmy little , leah purcell. has played session musician on albums artists such swanee, mondo rock, richard clapton, broderick smith, australian crawl, dave steel, james blundell, nathan cavaleri, johanna campbell , jimmy barnes
