the royal borough of kensington & chelsea pushing additional station in north of borough, east of old oak common, @ kensal off ladbroke grove , canal way. turn-back facility, built west of paddington, have been sited @ kensal provide frequent service new station regenerate area. former mayor boris johnson agreed station added if met 3 tests: must not delay construction of crossrail, did not compromise performance of crossrail or other railway, , must not increase crossrail s overall cost. council agreed underwrite projected £33 million cost, , consultancy study concluded kensal station not compromise crossrail.
tfl conducted feasibility study on station, , project supported local mps , residents, national grid, , retailers. supported adjoining london borough of brent. however, 3 mayoral tests set have not been met, , in 2013 indicated neither dft nor tfl supported construction of station, , crossrail construction continued without planning station @ kensal. there official closure of issue in april 2013.
the plans briefly resurrected former mayor boris johnson in 2016 not incoming mayor sadiq khan.
