life
kangxi era

yunti born yinzhen (胤祯; 胤禎; yìnzhēn) in aisin gioro clan 14th son of kangxi emperor. mother empress xiaogongren, bore yongzheng emperor. yunti s birth name yinzhen similar of fourth brother, yinzhen (胤禛), changed yinti .


in 1709, yinti granted title of beizi. in 1718, after dzungar forces defeated qing army along salween river in tibet, kangxi emperor appointed yinti great general pacifies frontier (撫遠大將軍) lead army of 300,000 tibet attack dzungars , leader, tsewang rabtan. believed sign kangxi emperor considering yinti potential heir throne. in february 1720, yinti ordered deputies galbi , yanxin set out xining take lhasa, while remained in xining build support mongol allies , escort seventh dalai lama lhasa. on 24 september 1720, yinti s army captured lhasa , returned dalai lama potala palace.


yongzheng era

on 21 december 1722, yinti planning conquest of dzungar khanate, received news of kangxi emperor s death , summoned capital, beijing, attend father s funeral. fourth brother, yinzhen, succeeded father , became historically known yongzheng emperor. yinti , brothers had change character yin (胤) in names yun (允) avoid naming taboo, because reigning emperor s personal name contained character yin.


in 1723, yunti promoted beizi junwang (second-rank prince). however, in following year, demoted beizi. yongzheng emperor perceived yunti potential threat throne, stripped yunti of beizi title in 1725 , placed him under house arrest @ shouhuang palace, in present-day jingshan park.


qianlong era

in 1735, yongzheng emperor died , succeeded fourth son hongli, became historically known qianlong emperor. qianlong emperor released yunti in same year after coronation. in 1737, yunti restored ranks of nobility fuguo gong (a lesser duke). ten years later, in 1747, promoted beile. in 1748, further promoted junwang , granted title prince xun of second rank (恂郡王).


yunti died in 1756 , posthumously honoured prince xunqin of second rank (恂勤郡王). prince xun peerage inherited second son, hongming (弘明; 1705–1767), became beile in 1735.
