in 1962, twa opened trans world flight center, terminal 5 (or t5), @ new york city s jfk airport , designed eero saarinen. terminal expanded in 1969 accommodate jumbo jets, went dormant in 2001, , underwent renovation , expansion beginning in 2005. new terminal crescent-shaped entry hall , serving jetblue airways opened in 2008—partially encircling landmark.
