history

the felice brothers got start band playing in new york city subway. stayed in little apartment in brooklyn , play in subway stations @ 42nd street , union square , in greenwich village. 3 brothers hail palenville, new york in catskill mountains.


now tour country, traveling in short bus . 2006 self-released debut album through these reins , gone followed tonight @ arizona released in 2007 through loose. through these reins , gone made onto radio woodstock wdst s top 25 albums of 2006. album adventures of felice brothers vol. 1 james felice said, put 1 record out on english label (loose), , ve released other stuff ourselves (on label new york pro ). felice brothers have played @ levon helm s midnight ramble in woodstock, new york , toured bright eyes in fall of 2007.


2008

on january 7, announced felice brothers had signed record deal team love records in us. toured united states extensively during spring (february through mid-april), promote new album. brothers played @ mountain jam @ hunter mountain again year. played @ 2008 clearwater festival, bonnaroo in manchester, tennessee, philadelphia folk festival in schwenksville, pennsylvania, points west music , arts festival @ liberty state park in jersey city, , outside lands music , arts festival in san francisco, latter 2 festivals being inaugural events.


in august, band performed @ legendary newport folk festival. due torrential rains, high winds, , lightning storms, power cut entire newport, rhode island area. stage band performing on had no generators, band played unplugged. performed on hour such songs frankie s gun! , sing-a-long land land .


2009

the felice brothers joined old crow medicine show, justin townes earle , dave rawlings machine nine-city package tour called big surprise tour, after lead track yonder clock album. kicking off on august 4, 2009 @ casino ballroom in hampton beach, new hampshire, tour travelled around eastern united states before wrapping @ world s fair park in knoxville, tennessee, on august 14, 2009.


2010

the felice brothers opened dave matthews band @ 4 concerts in canada , us, starting @ molson amphitheatre in toronto on june 1, 2010. appeared @ hardly strictly bluegrass festival in san francisco on october 3. in late september , october band reunited 4 shows conor oberst. shows in california. appeared @ end of road festival, larmer tree gardens, dorset, england in september.


2011

the felice brothers released single ponzi on march 29. first single newest album celebration, florida released on may 10 on fat possum (usa) , may 23 on loose in europe.


2012

the felice brothers released collection of songs on july 18 entitled god bless you, amigo . mixture of unreleased original songs , covers of classic folk songs. shortly thereafter drummer dave turbeville replaced drummer david estabrook.


2013

on december 30, 2013, dell launched commercial called “beginnings.” made y&r, new york advertising agency, , features cover of drifters hit magic moment performed felice brothers.
