marcus garvey ballroom

the marcus garvey ballroom local west indian community centre managed west indian cavaliers, , located on lenton boulevard. named after marcus mosiah garvey, venue famous large music hall, ballroom, has capacity of around 1000. events include clubnights run students universities, including firefly, detonate, misst, , specialises in live acts,it houses legendary c.p.h sound system.


the marcus garvey day care centre hosts day care facilities african caribbean elders, wide range of activities including bingo, raffle, needlework, dominoes, arts , crafts , prayer meeting held on friday mornings. fresh meals available small charge. centre has library, organ, music system, tv , video facilities. building wheelchair accessible.


this building formerly part of raleigh bicycle company s development in lenton, largely demolished make way new university of nottingham campus.
