in 1963, princess marijke changed name second name, christina. pursuing gift music, @ age 21 moved canada study classical music in montreal. after few years, accepted teaching position @ montessori school in new york city. there, living under name christina van oranje, princess met , started relationship cuban exile named jorge pérez y guillermo, himself teacher addie may collins shelter of harlem , former hotelier. guillermo born in havana on 1 august 1946. son of federico gilberto pérez y castillo , wife edenia mercedes guillermo y marrero, died in florida in 2002; brother, gilberto pérez y guillermo, film studies professor.
