season 1 begins on october 27, 2007 premiere season. hundreds of contestants face series of elimination rounds in each episode, each theme focuses pop songs or pk episodes. after 7 months of gruelling competition, finals started in may. winner, jing chang, receives recording contract gold typhoon. season 1 ended 35 episodes.


season 2

season 2 begins on 28 june 2008 after first season. 61 contestants face series of elimination rounds in each episode. after 6 months of gruelling competition, finals started on 28 december 2008. winner, ai cheng, receives recording contract skyhigh entertainment. season 2 ended 32 episodes.


season 3

season 3 begins on 7 february 2009, promising biggest of super idol history. hundreds of contestants around world face series of elimination rounds in each episode. 2 contestants last season competing again.



when top 20 results has been released on 11 april, starting season, contestant lowest points eliminated straight away. also, each episode see mvp, has chance seen star of month in ttv, set, unique , ai ka la s media, interviews, , endorser companies products. also, celebrities sing along contestants in random episodes.
this season sees australian national max grieve in special guest segment. grieve s performance simulcast crowd of 60 people in home town, canberra.
the finals started on 10 october 2009, live. winner, zhu li jing, receives recording contract warner music (taiwan). season 3 ended 39 episodes.

season 4

season 4 begins on 7 november 2009. hundreds of contestants around world face series of elimination rounds in each episode. 4 contestants last seasons competing again 3 competing contestants (group). finals started on 17 july 2010, live. winner, zeng yu jia, receives recording contract seed music. season 4 ended 35 episodes.



also season sees jing chang in special guest segment on 23 may. on 30 may, super idol invites jing , ai wen on stage pk contestants.

season 5

season 5 begins on 24 july 2010. hundreds of contestants around world face series of elimination rounds in each episode. 2 contestants last season competing again.



to encourage contestants north america compete, los angeles free-to-air tv network han tian television collaborates set first time. auditions los angeles stop held in april 24 , 25.
this season see pk trio , pk duo in 5th 11th episode.
the finals started on 9 april 2011, live. winner, ai yi lang, receives recording contract sony music entertainment (taiwan). season 5 ended 39 episodes.
