(french pronunciation: ​[a la səɡɔ̃d]) position of leg side body facing directly forward ( en face ).


À la quatrième

(french pronunciation: ​[a la katʁijɛm]) 1 of directions of body, facing audience (en face), arms in second position, 1 leg extended either fourth position in front (quatrième devant) or fourth position behind (quatrième derrière).

avant, en

(french pronunciation: ​[ɑ̃n avɑ̃]; meaning forwards ) movement towards front, opposed en arrière, conversely movement towards back. example, step travelling en avant moves forwards towards audience, in sissonne en avant.


arrière, en

(french pronunciation: ​[ɑ̃n aʁjɛːʁ]; meaning backwards ) movement towards back, opposed en avant.
