ordrup asyl established @ private initiative in 1860 group of prominent citizens led pastor @ gentofte church. institution provided day-time care children of families both families worked outside home. parents worked @ local farms or country house


in 1863, mayor sass donated country house @ ordruphøjvej institution. current building constructed in 1898 neo-gothic design municipal architect andreas theil. construction cost, circa dkk 25,000, donated jacob moresco, 1 of wealthiest citizens in gentofte @ time , owner of nearby country house adelaide.
