julio velasco began playing volleyball @ age of 15 national university of la plata club.

velasco guided italy men s national volleyball team several successes in 1990s. period of time golden coaching in volleyball , sport. in 1989, hired coach italy. led them gold medal @ european championships in 1989 first champ in history of italian volleyball. until 1996, when velasco leaves azzurri bench, italy collects 3 european championship gold medals, 2 fivb world championships gold medalist , 5 victories in world league, in addition other minor trophies liked, fivb world grand champions cup, mediterranean games, fivb world cup , world super challenge. velasco in last years of presence in italy great achievement , first silver medal history fipav in 1996 summer olympics. @ proid developing big player similar, sartoretti, bernardi, giani, lucchetta , zorezi.
